In addition to the consolidated experience in the production of twin-screw extruders for compounding, few years ago MARIS has been engaged in the development of continuous mixing of curable rubber.
This development was the consequence of following experiences:

a) thirty years experience in the continuous compounding in:

• high contents of mineral fillers (silica included), of pigments, carbon black included

• the development and the consolidated technique of the introduction of fillers in the molten polymer, pigments, additives and chemicals

• the experience in thermoplastics, SBS, SEBS; the solution for injecting in the barrel high quantities of plasticizers, hydrocarbonic resins (adhesives, hot-melts)

• introduction of crosslinking agents, expanding agents (for crosslinkable and expansible EVA)

• production of dynamically vulcanized plastomers and elastomers compounds

b) high torque HT Maris extruders enabled processes with high viscosity polymers (natural and synthetic elastomers included).

All these factors, hardware and knowledge of the above mentioned processes, enabled the Company to go in the continuous rubber mixing.
This is a recent technology, still under evolution. However, Maris extruders have been already succesfully applied for the following polymers:

• EPDM
• NBR
• SBR
• NR
• CI-IIR

The experiences are based on projects developed together with European Companies. The main sectors are:
- car industry (joints for car doors, sealings)
- particulars for dynamic application 
- tyres
- shoe soles

MARIS wish to cooperate on specific innovation projects with Companies interested in rubber continuous mixing.
