PML 2 – Universal Platform of Agitated Media Mills for Process Development

At the occasion of ACHEMA 2006 Buhler AG will introduce a new platform of agitated media mills for lab scaled development of processes and formulations.

The modular design offers unique flexibility. The core is the drive unit, on which several proved Buhler process zones in a varienty of ceramic- and steel executions can be mounted:

• Drais Supertex®, horizontal Disc Agitator
• Drais Superflow®/Advantis®, High Performance Pin Agitator
• Drais Cosmo®, Couette-Gap Agitator
• Simulator for Cobra, vertical Pin Agitator

The actual volume of the grinding zone can be chosen between 0.2, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.0 Litres. The proportional geometry and cooling properties guarantee reliable scale-up procedures to the high performance production units.

Thanks to the rotatable drive unit including the process zone, horizontal as well as vertical operation modes are possible.

Alternatively, different separating systems can be installed. Flat-sieve cartridges or grinding slot modules assure a safe seperation of grinding media in the range of 0.2 – 2.0mm diametre depending on the area of application.
