DuPont is underlining its exhibit at Achema 2006, the global summit for the chemical process industry (Frankfurt, Germany, 15th-19th May 2006), by hosting a seminar entitled “Materials Technology – Managing Corrosion with Teflon®”. Covering applications across for the process industry, including the oil and gas, food and pharmaceutical industries, the seminar will introduce the range of Teflon® products, including resins, coatings and films, available for high-purity chemical manufacturing. Kalrez® perfluoroelastomer parts from DuPont Performance Elastomers, commonly used for seals in harsh chemical
environments, also form part of the agenda. The seminar will be held on Wednesday 17th May 2006, from 13.30 until approximately 18.00 in room Fantasie 2 at the Frankfurt Congress Centre. High-purity chemicals and solvents are manufactured using equipment that resists corrosion and leaching that can introduce contaminates. Whether process vessels, tubing, valves and pumps or storage containers made of steel or reinforced plastic, all can be lined with Teflon® PFA HP or Teflon® PTFE to extend service life and reduce maintenance, whilst protecting product purity. Further topics to be featured at the seminar, and on the DuPont Fluoropolymer Solutions stand during Achema 2006 (Hall 3, Stand L40-41), include new developments in Teflon® expanded PTFE gasketing materials as well as solutions for food and medical machinery.
